My Work

I have a lot of stories. So these summaries are all pretty clipped. If any of them sound interesting, each one has a Meet the Books! link to a post by that same name, wherein the story is introduced in my link-up (that's what I did before I figured out how to put all the stories here in one place). I apologize for some of them having covers and some not - I haven't quite gotten around to making covers for all of them yet. Anyhow. Without further ado, the numerous, numerous, horribly numerous works that I'm working on (in summary):

Alomina
This story was started in August 2014, and still isn't polished. I'm working on it. But it's my oldest surviving story, so it's probably my next one to be finished fully.
Plot: Percy and Alomina de Blyrwen have a quiet and unassuming life. They are happy thus, until a ball which enters them not only into very dangerous personal lives but into a political intrigue that the world has rare seen the like of. Little hope do they think they have. But the only hope can often lie in unexpected places...
Genre: Allegory/Drama
Form: Novel.
Main Character(s): If the title is to be believed, Alomina.
Time Period: The equivalent in my story world of about the 1300's.
Status: Finished, unofficially, at about 60k or 250 pages.
Link: Alomina.

The Top-Hat Gang, Book One
This story began in the summer of 2015, I think, and is also unfinished.
Plot: Harry Drew was never been very comfortable around girls. Sure, all of his friends always went out and got around and everything, but he just never really tried. So when he actually falls for a girl, his best friend, Flynn Arnough, does all in his power to help Harry win her. Things start to go haywire, though, when, first, a war begins, and then, Flynn himself begins to fall for Harry's girl.
Genre: Romantic Comedy.
Form: Novel.
Main Character(s): Harry and Flynn.
Time Period: The story begins in late 1941.
Status: WIP, with two yet-to-come sequels. In line to be redrafted.

The Top-Hat Gang, Book Two
Plot: Many of the Top-Hat Gang boys are considering joining up. Word's going around that Freddie's even been drafted. But Jim's got other things on his mind. For one, that girl at the museum. If any of the guys knew he was going there, he'd be the laughingstock of the gang for years to come. Especially Jerry. So if he has to face the war, and Jerry finds out, he'd have to be honest, right?
Genre: Romantic Comedy.
Form: Novel.
Main Character(s): Jim and Jerry.
Time Period: 1942-3.
Status: Archive novel, waiting.
Link: None yet.

The Top-Hat Gang, Book Three
Plot: Now everybody's in the war. It seems like it'll never end. But then... it finally does! All the Top-Hat Gang's getting back to their homes and their families... but some people are having a harder time recovering. Roger didn't have a girl before the war - why should he now? But he didn't think it'd be so hard to come back from the front. Now it's just him and Freddie - the rest of the gang's around, but they all have their girls, and Harry and Jim even have kids. Everybody may be celebrating, but Rog - happy as he is about the war being over - just wants to stay in his bookshop and recuperate. That is, until he has to get Freddie out of some trouble and ends up getting himself into some...
Genre: Romantic Comedy.
Form: Novel.
Main Character(s): Roger and Freddie.
Time Period: 1945.
Status: Archive novel, waiting.
Link: None yet.

The Clarion Call
Started almost directly after The Top-Hat Gang, this one's also been around for a while, but finishing it will have to wait.
Plot: Alagna Arleine, a vivacious and perhaps ever-so-slightly nosy courtier in a kingless kingdom, has always had a life of grandeur and luxury - one she has always had the privilege of shaping herself, to her exact wish. But when she accidentally uncovers a plot to kill her best friend and permanently dethrone the monarchy, she realizes that everything could be gone in a day, and she must sacrifice everything to keep the things she really loves.
Genre: Action/Adventure, for lack of a better term
Form: Novel
Main Character(s): Alagna Arleine
Time Period: My story world's equivalent to the late 1400's.
Status: WIP, at about 25k
Link: Alagna.

The Pain of a Memory
This one was started on a writing prompt back when I was in a writing group (2016), but it's gotten farther than most of my other stories since then unexpectedly, considering that it was completely improvised until about 2018.
Plot: Sometimes a memory can have a lot of power. It can make a man. It can shape the most twisted monster or the most virtuous hero, as Anwynne, a young queen-to-be, finds while on her journey to her future throne. When that journey is halted, she meets many a hero and monster shaped by fighting or forgiving memory, and discovers her own humanity in the light of others' suffering.
Genre: Drama... or Action/Adventure. Not sure.
Form: Novel.
Main Character(s): Princess Anwynne, Echo Torriven, and a soldier-boy named Lan.
Status: Finished. In line to be redrafted.

All's Fair!
This one is also thanks to my old writing group and its weekly prompts - it never would've started without that and the Fred Astaire song, I Left My Hat in Haiti.
Plot: It's the Army Air Corps versus the Navy in a wartime musical like you've never seen before! When two pilots meet an old naval pal on the front, the three become engaged in a hilarious three-way for a hard-to-catch Army nurse. As it goes on, the gimmicks and songs become greater and greater all in the name of the rivalry's slogan - "All's fair in love and war"!
Genre: Romantic Comedy/Drama
Form: Stage Musical.
Main Character(s): Mont Williams, Ned Norster, and Irv Baines.
Status: WIP. Roughly all of the songs exist, and the plot exists but is not in play format yet.
Link: All's Fair!.

The Second Brother
This story's sequels would take far too long and are far too ambiguous in plot as of now to make each of them have separate synopses, so for now, I'll classify them all under The Second Brother. This was also started because of the writing group, though not from a writing prompt.
Plot: Owain hasn't see his half-brother, Feotheire, in almost two years. The boy was a rebellious vagabond, and they'd never gotten along very well. Owain is forced to see him again, though, when Feo gets himself into trouble with a traitorous cult against the king by accident, and Owain has to go on a doomed-to-fail quest with Feo to prove Feo's innocence and restore the family name... What a disaster...
Genre: Fantasy.
Form: Novel.
Main Character(s): Owain Lontrey.
Status: Finished. In line to be redrafted.

The Ever-Three
The sequel to The Second Brother. [Spoiler warning!]
Plot: Now that the events of the first book are over, Owain and Feo have to search for their fellow questers. The journey takes them through dangerous territory and within the eye of both the Aquions and more troublesome forces.
Genre: Fantasy
Form: Novel.
Main Character(s): Owain Lontrey, Feotheire Lontrey.
Status: WIP.
Link: None yet. One may be incoming at some point.

The Distant Wanderer (and following sequels)
Another sequel to The Second Brother. [Spoiler warning!]
Plot: After all they've been through, the questers have yet to find the answer to the three riddles: Do the Three exist? What is the Silva? Who is Ursan, Wanderer? History may be doomed to repeat itself if the questers cannot find the truth.
Genre: Fantasy.
Form: Novel(s).
Main Character(s): Owain, Feotheire, Ursan.
Status: WIP/Archive novels, waiting.
Link: None yet.

In Greater Hands and Sequels (Against the World; Beyond the Stars)
Once more, the sequels are too lengthy but have too little meat to have their own synopses, unfortunately. I officially started this story around the same time I started this blog, for NaNoWriMo in 2016.
Plot: Leta has fought all her life... against what, she's not sure. She's just fought. Whenever she's needed, wherever she's needed, against whatever foe threatens the freedom of the people. But it's never been right somehow. She knows that everything she fought for was good, but she still feels empty - how can she possibly keep fighting forever? Doesn't everything always seem to rest on her shoulders, even though she's so incapable? It takes a group of friends and a true soul to finally give her and her world peace.
Genre: Action/Adventure.
Form: Novel Trilogy.
Main Character(s): Leta Arsteva.
Status: Finished, unofficially, at about 60k. In line to be redrafted.

Le Ragnatele di Venezia (The Webs of Venezia)
This one got started just 2017, when I started getting into musical theory more.
Plot: Venezia LaVeirsi fancies her brother Petrarcho's friend, Salvatore Bena. The problem is that Salvatore prefers her friend, Caecilia. So Venezia plots. And her webs become more complicated and less scrupulous as she gets more desperate to accomplish her motive - she must have her way.
Genre: Drama, with a touch of Allegory.
Form: Opera.
Main Character(s): Venezia LaVeirsi.
Status: WIP, but on hold at the moment so that I can work more on All's Fair!.

The Treasure of the Twin Temples
I'm coauthoring this one, but my coauthor would prefer to remain anonymous, so her name will be left out of this.
Plot: Pirates meet under strange circumstances, discovering an alleged curse and sailing to save the world from an apocalypse of undead rising from the hexed treasures of two different identical pagan temples before time runs out.
Genre: Fantasy, very likely Children's Fantasy, as you can probably tell from the cheesy plot.
Form: Novel/Novella.
Main Character(s): Captain Peter Westly and Captain Dominique Morales.
Status: WIP, but on hold for the moment.

A Broadway Waltz
Plot: A couple of hard-luck dancers have been together for years, just trying to make it big. When they finally get a chance - even if just as a chorus couple - in a leading Broadway show, they're thrilled. After all, haven't they made it big, and aren't they still dancing as a team, no matter what happens? But when some influence up top lands half of the team in another show's starring role and leaves her partner, it seems that dancing as a team may get harder, and even seeing each other becomes almost impossible. Is the team broken up?
Genre: Romance.
Form: Novel.
Main Character(s): Amy Cassidy and Alejandro Lorenz.
Status: WIP.

Turning the Century (previously known as Divided)
This one is a collaboration novel between Grim and me!
Plot: A brother and sister of roaring, rich Bellafossa are separated when the sister flies an old airplane into a forgotten half of the world, where people are living in an impoverished, Victorian fairytale. The lunatic inventor who separated the worlds has been in a fantastical sleep for decades, stuck somewhere in Bellafossa's half. Sure to include flappers, enchantments, gangsters, flying machines, dance floors, and old pianos.
Genre: Fantasy.
Form: Novel.
Main Character(s): Gianni Verreni and Fioria Verreni.
Status: WIP.
Link: None yet.

By the First Light of Dawn: A Retelling of Giselle
Plot: The stars burn and flash, and swim and swirl around her, and then they suddenly stop - the first light of dawn brings them back to the sky, setting them down, making them sink and fade. Giselle has had strange dreams for months now, and begins to wonder if there is something to them when her world seems to start mimicking that swirling and fading all around her: her best friend suddenly becomes an enemy, her innocent courtship waivers into heartbreak, and her very life begins to slowly ebb away, her strength somehow disappearing and leaving her with nothing. If this is because of the dream, if all of this is real, then when will the first light of dawn finally come?
Genre: Allegory/Drama.
Form: Novel.
Main Character(s): Giselle.
Status: Archive novel, waiting.

The Harlequin Sleuth (and sequels)
Plot: Ettiano Travista is literally a circus runaway, on the lam from a life he despises - the life of a detective. Though school, his family back in Italy, and even his ladylove, Zolita, urge him to use skills he worked hard for, he wants absolutely nothing to do with detecting, crime, or criminals. Why would one endanger everything and everyone held dear to merely be some smart, self-righteous snob who makes a living making enemies out of dangerous people? But sometimes the cool appeal of mystery is just a little too enticing...
Genre: Mystery (much lighter, though - very possibly Youth).
Form: Short Story Series.
Main Character(s): Ettiano Travista.
Status: WIP.
Link: The Harlequin Sleuth

Pack Up Your Troubles
Plot: Jules split up his sister from her sweetheart, Arthur, because he thought the boy was no good. But when the guy saves Jules' life and goes to the front to fight, even losing his memory, Jules realizes he was wrong about him. He promises his sister that he'll find Arthur and make up for everything - he has to keep that promise... no matter how hard it is.
Genre: Drama.
Form: Novel.
Main Character(s): Jules.
Status: Archive novel, waiting.
Link: Pack Up Your Troubles

Burn the Shakespeareans
Plot: A luckless troupe of Shakespeareans try to survive and restore their home and old theatre amidst opposition, death, and heartache. To bring the beauty of the stage to the world seems a mission in vain, only met by the ugliness, suffering, and desolation that world already holds, determined not to let the troupe stand...
Genre: Drama.
Form: Probably novel.
Main Character(s): Undecided.
Status: Archive novel, waiting.
Link: Burn the Shakespeareans

He Travels the Fastest
Plot: A grouchy old traveling salesman wants to go west and retire... his only problem is a widowed  Spanish marquesa and her brood of eight children, recently escaped from Ellis Island, attached to him at the hip, and quite determined to get to California with true aristocratic stubbornness. With police very possibly tailing them, the silence of supposed legal American aids, and the antics of some unruly and clueless Europeans, the traveling is slow, tricky, and full of potential for disasters...
Genre: Comedy.
Form: Probably novel.
Main Character(s): "Chess" Ridley, an ex-traveling salesman.
Status: WIP.
Link: He Travels the Fastest.

To Save a Little Face
Plot: A historical retelling of the Grimm Brothers' "King Thrushbeard." A stage diva is very professional but very hard to please as far as people are concerned. When a scandalous rumor is spread about, her manager threatens to fire her unless she marries to save her reputation. When she refuses to make the effort herself, he picks her out the "first honest man that comes to the stage door," a street fiddler. The fiddler doesn't want a prima donna for a wife, and the prima donna scorns the fiddler, but they're landed together anyhow. For the moment, life isn't easy...
Genre: Romantic Comedy.
Form: Novel.
Main Character(s): Donna, a singing virtuoso and prime actress.
Status: Archive novel, waiting.
Link: None at present.

For the moment, that's all of them. We'll see how long that lasts...!

Wow, you really do have quite a few works... I figured you had a lot, but not *that* many... keep at 'em and good luck!
And I had to laugh at the picture you put as "The Treasure of the Twin Temples" as I'd know that place anywhere....
You need to get all those works published so we can read them!(Though, preferably finish them first)

    1. Thanks! Eh... hehehe, yep... there's a lot...

Well. It always was, but it was basically plot-less until I pushed the date back ten years so it was during the War.
